Ken Jeong imageKen Jeong Made Me Do It is happening! The comedy series pilot has gotten the green light now that Jeong is officially on board. Part of the cast of the soon-to-be-revived Community, Jeong will have time in his schedule to appear in both shows. He is also slated to appear in the CBS TV movie The DUFF.

Sword of Shannara coverAnother greenlight for the show is Shannara, based on the novel by Terry Brooks. Set a thousand years into a post-apocalyptic future, the series focuses on the Shannaras, whose descendants possess ancient magical powers.

 

 

FOX

Rina MimounRina Mimoun will take part in developing the highly anticipated Red Band Society as writer and executive producer. Mimoun has previously worked on Mistresses and Hart of Dixie. Red Band follows a group of ill teenagers in the wing of a hospital and their relationships with each other and their doctors.

Craig FrankCraig Frank, who plays dorky tech guy Alan on new show The Messengers, has been promoted to a series regular. The eerie concept show is about a select group who are brought back to life after a strange energy pulse to do the unthinkable.

 

 

 

 

Lifetime

Zandaya and AaliyahSinger/actress Zendaya has been cast as the titular star in the original movie Aaliyah; Princess of R&B. The film tells the story of the life and all too premature death of the young musician, who was victim to a plane crash in 2001.

Lifetime is getting saved by the bell. The channel just greenlit The Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story, a behind-the-scenes look at the iconic 90s teen show. Tiera Skovbye will bring Jesse Spano to life, Alyssa Lynch as Kelly, Dylan Everett will play Zack Morris, Julian Works is locked in as Slater, Sam Kindseth is set to play Screech, and Taylor Russell will play Lisa Turtle.
