Underemployed

This series is MTV’s answer to GIRLS or a callback to FRIENDS. From producer Craig Wright, the show follows a group of friends in their early 20’s — Sophia, Daphne, Lou, Raviva and Miles. The group filled with goals, dreams and hope for crazy success and dynamism on the road to adulthood. Things never quite go according to plan, however. The pilot begins one year after the group’s college graduation. No longer starry-eyed, reality has set in and the group struggles through the major life changes including romantic missteps, dead-end jobs, and oh-so-terrible bosses. The group transcends friendship and become a new family. According to MTV, “if life is about living, none of them are underemployed.”

Highlights: Sarah Habel and her cute bangs are sure to give Zooey Deschanel a run for her money. The writing on this show is where the creators really have a chance to shine, however.
