Before we can have fun with the activity, here’s a refresher on the show. Never Have I Ever is a television series that aired on Netflix on April 27th, 2020. It reached up to three seasons, with its fourth and final season premiering on June 8th. A comedy-drama starring talented stars such as Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Poorna Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani, Darren Barnet, Jaren Lewison, John McEnroe, Ramona Young, Lee Rodriguez, Michael Cimino, and our interviewee Benjamin Norris. This coming-of-age show was created by the minds of television writer Lang Fisher and Mindy Kaling, whom you might recognize from her television appearance. For those who watched The Office, you’ll certainly recognize her as Kelly Kapoor. If that doesn’t ring any bells, then perhaps you’ll remember after watching the shows she has created. The shows are The Mindy Project and Champions.

Never Have I Ever tells the story of Indian-American student Devi Vishwakumar, whose father suddenly died. The series is best described the best to serve as Tamil, South Indian, and Hindu representation in media. The show was highly exalted for breaking Asian stereotypes. It was renewed on July 1st, 2020 and its second season was released on July 15th, 2021. The show was eventually renewed again on August 19th, 2021 and its third season was released on August 12, 2022. Finally, it was renewed once more for its final season, set to release on June 8th!

Speaking of Never Have I Ever, here’s their origin. Fun fact, did you know that the show was loosely based on Mindy Kaling’s childhood experiences? Kaling has confirmed that the show is “based in the spirit of [her] childhood”. The show continued to follow that throughout the show. Interesting, huh?

There are also some tidbits about Benjamin! A Los Angeles-based actor, Benjamin has contributed to the artistic scene as an actor, writer, and producer with a focus on comedy. After moving to Los Angeles in 2012, he continued to hone his comedic craft by studying at Groundlings. He eventually became involved in media.

As a writer and producer, Benjamin created the weekly comedy series Live Your Lyfe as its co-creator in 2012. Eventually he branched out to serve as a producer for Hula and The Pregame. As an actor, Benjamin appeared in Up for Adoption as Shane, Private Dicks as Leroy Jankums, Unfortunately, Ashly as BenThe Pregame as Connor, Superstore as Tony, iCarly 2023 as Troy, and the Never Have I Ever series as Trent Harrison! For those curious about his future works, Benjamin will be in Pacific Park as a character named Andrew Toledo and Puddysticks as a character named Brian.

And now, onto the game! We first start with a bit of an aggressive quote, right off the bat. “I’m here to do exactly what I’ve said I do. I’m here to have sex with you.” Benjamin answers correctly that it was Paxton Hall-Yoshida, aka Darren Barnet’s character! The next quote is, “I never would’ve run away earlier if I had known I’d get to use the bathroom with a t.v. in it.”. Benjamin answers correctly once again, saying that it was Devi Vishwakumar, aka Maitreyi Ramakrishnan’s character. Be sure to check out the video to see Benjamin’s results!
