Free Birds Review

Free Birds posterThanksgiving is a time for thanks, and for turkey. Unfortunately for Reggie (Owen Wilson), he is a turkey, but as luck would have it, he becomes the pardoned turkey and is taken to Camp David with the President and his Daughter. There he plans to live out the rest of his life watching soap operas and eating pizza.

Free Birds is a film about loyalty and friendships. When Jake (Woody Harrelson) kidnaps Reggie, Jake tells him that he must go back in time to the first thanksgiving to rescue turkeys everywhere.

Once Reggie is in the past, he finds that he is not alone in life, literally falling head over heels for Jenny (Amy Poehler). She helps him realize what it would be like in a world where he could be himself.

Free Birds has a lot of well-written adult humor without being crude, and kids will love it. The Young Adult might get slightly bored at points, but it’s a fun animated film with an awesome cast and a few twists to boot.
