Nicholas Podany joins The Powerpuff Girls

The Powerpuff Girls live-action remake has even more casting news! We all remember Mojo Jojo from the original The Powerpuff Girls, and we just found out that Nicholas Podany was cast as Mojo Jojo’s son.

This casting news follows the announcements of Donald Faison cast as Professor Drake Utonium. And Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault, cast as the three Powerpuff Girls. They will play Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup respectively.

Mojo Jojo’s son is said to have once been a nerdy, insecure kid, but also power-hungry. He is also said to have been obsessed with the Powerpuff Girls when he was younger. Even though his father was their biggest enemy. In Powerpuff we will see him battling his two personalities of being sweet but also having rage at the same time.

In the original animated series his father, Mojo Jojo, was the antagonist of the show. And was constantly plotting to take over the world and the Powerpuff Girls. He was originally Professor Utonium’s research assistant. And he accidentally helped in the creation of the three Powerpuff Girls when he pushed the professor towards a container of Chemical X causing it to fall into a concoction that was being made.

The show is written by Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier, and will be directed by Maggie Kiley. All three will executive-produce alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Dave Madden.

Nicholas graduated from Julliard in 2018, and is best known for his work on Broadway as Albus Potter in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, as well as his work on CW’s television show Hart of Dixie. Young Entertainment Magazine did an interview with Nicholas back in 2019, make sure to check out his interview with us here to learn more about him.

We were so excited to hear about Nicholas being cast to portray this character! And can not wait to hear more casting news about Powerpuff!
