It looks as though Donald Fasion will soon be putting on a lab coat. The Powerpuff Girls live-action CW show titled Powerpuff has finally found their Professor Drake Utonium! Donald Fasion will be joining the cast as the professor. Chloe Bennett, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault were previously announced to star as the Powerpuff Girls. They will play Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup respectively.
The show will be based off of the cartoon The Powerpuff Girls, which was about three sisters made in a lab and who fight evil in the city of Townsville. Powerpuff will pick up with the girls as twenty-something year olds who resent losing their childhoods to fighting crime. Professor Drake Utonium is known from the animated show as a quirky scientist genius. And he is the one who created the three Powerpuff Girls in his lab. He loves the three girls, and considers them his daughters. In Powepuff, he will be going through somewhat of a midlife crisis, and he will be trying to repair his relationship with his now adult-daughters.
Donald Fasion is best known for his role on Scrubs, where he portrayed Dr. Chris Turk for the nine seasons in which it ran. He also had roles in the television shows Emergence and Generation Q and was in movies such Remember the Titans. He portrayed Murray in both the movie and television series Clueless as well.
Powerpuff will have Heather Regnier and Diablo Cody as the writers and executive producers. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden will also executive produce. And Erika Kennaiir will be a producer on the show.
