Top 10 Things to Read, Watch & Listen to from November 27-December 3

Throughout the holiday break, it’s important to keep entertained. From a reboot of the much-beloved Gossip Girl series, to a modern literary twist on Little Women, and even a comedy about a girl who makes money from contacting the dead, YEM curated a list of terrific entertainment to enjoy during this time.

1. Gossip Girl, Season 2 (HBO Max) (December 1)

In this scandalous second season of the hit reboot, there’s going to be even more intrigue and drama for your favorite Upper East Siders, as they embark on their junior year. This time around, relationships form between characters like Max and Ari, as well as Julien and a mysterious new character. And a bombshell is dropped when Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg), from the original Gossip Girl series, arrives in town to stir things up. It’s sure to be a wildly entertaining ride.

2. Darby and the Dead (Hulu) (December 2)

In this paranormal comedy, Darby Harper (Riele Downs) has the ability to see ghosts, a consequence of a childhood near-death experience. Nowadays, she runs a business in her spare time where she counsels with the spirits of those who have passed on. 3. Never Ever Getting Back Together by Sophie Gonzalez (November 29)

Love-scorned Maya and Skye both find themselves whisked off to a mansion, along with four other women wronged by their ex, Jordy. Soon to be featured on a dating reality show, Skye plans to get back with Jordy, whilst Maya plots revenge. But soon, both realize that their happy ending might not be anything they planned for.

4. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules (Disney Plus) (December 2)

This animated incarnation of the beloved Diary of a Wimpy Kid sequel sees Greg Heffley (voiced by Brady Noon) struggling to get along with his older brother Rodrick (Hunter Dillon). This becomes even more difficult when Rodrick threatens to expose an embarrassing secret of Greg’s.

5. Willow, Episode 1 (Disney Plus) (November 30)

In this reboot of the cult classic fantasy film, an unlikely group of heroes band together to go on an epic quest full of danger, trolls and sorcerers. At the same time they are exploring the larger world, they are forced to confront their inner demons. 6. Belittled Women by Amanda Sellet (November 29)

Jo Porter, named after Jo March from Little Women, is forced into living inside a tourist-attraction of a house designed like that from the acclaimed novel, and is frustratingly being forced to star in an upcoming production of Little Women Live! But when a photojournalist arrives to document the big event, Jo gets a glimpse of another life. Not only that, but the reporter’s son finds himself drawn to Jo- much to the annoyance of her friend. But on top of that, Jo’s getting too authentic about her frustration with her family’s business forces her to make peace before their livelihood is destroyed.

7. Salt Circle by Eliza McLamb (Music album) (December 2)

8. The Santa Clauses, Episode 4 (Disney Plus) (November 30)

Now that Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) isn’t Santa, he tries to adjust to life in Chicago, preparing to celebrate the holidays with family before an unexpected visitor arrives. At the same time, Simon (Kal Penn) gets comfortable in his new job at the North Pole, incorporating Santa’s delivery system as part of his own e-commerce enterprise. 9. House of Yesterday by Deeba Zargapur (November 29)
