Hit singer Trevor Douglas has released his newest single, “Stay By Your Side.” Fans may remember Trevor from the fourteenth season of American Idol. The video of his January 2015 American Idol audition accumulated nearly 300,000 YouTube views in just one month.

On his new single, Trevor makes a grand gesture in the form of a promise to love the object of his affection better than the man before him. Soft and intimate in the beginning, the track blooms into something rhythmic and beat-heavy as it progresses. The acoustic guitar, a staple in Douglas’ music, remains center stage throughout. The lushy arrangement of instrumentation and loop pedals create an introspective and welcoming atmosphere, appropriate for the romantic declaration that is the subject of the track’s story. But it’s in Douglas’ soft, warm vocals that the song truly gleams, infusing the entire track with unmatched vocal sensitivity. Trevor’s EP “Four In The Morning” will be dropping later this Summer.
