At YA Mag we love charting the course of an up and coming star, through the ups and downs of canceled shows and starring roles. Griffin Gluck has had quite a ride already, in spite of his paltry fourteen years. We spoke to Griffin almost a year ago (wow, how time flies!) about a since-cancelled sitcom called Back in the Game, and also discussed his strong showings in Just Go With It opposite Adam Sandler, on United States of Tara as Monty, and on Private Practice as Mason Warner.
Since then, Griffin has also landed a role on FOX’s hit new teen hospital drama, Red Band Society. Griffin was cool enough to chat with us again about the experience, from shooting in Atlanta to what it’s like playing a patient who is essentially comatose. After a moderate-to-strong opening and a fair amount of buzz around the YA blogosphere and beyond, Red Band recently received the good news that the network is ordering more scripts to be written—a sign that production will hopefully continue.
Outside of that, what’s next for this young adult actor? Revival!, a musical film billed as a ‘gospel/funk fantasia’. Sounds fascinating!
