Their romance is a haven for her from the company of her society friends who can’t wait to grow up and embark on romances of their own. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Carey Wallace was raised in small towns in Michigan. Her work has appeared in Oasis, SPSM&H, Detroit’s MetroTimes and quarrtsilun. She is a founder of the Working Artists Initiative for the International Arts Movement, of the Zoae Series, and of the event-based Lost City Gallery. She is a photographer with Detroit Safari. She also founded an annual arts retreat, The Hillbilly Underground in rural Michigan each summer. She lives and works in Brooklyn.
