“I Love It” by Icona Pop featured on Girls Poised to become as important to this season of Girls as Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own” was to the first season, Icona Pop’s song “I Love It” was very loveable. Hannah dancing to the song in the Andrew Andrew nightclub party with Elijah was epic. It’s pretty much everything the show tries to capture about being in your 20s and figuring it out in New York. A clip from the show is unavailable, however the music video is eerily similar in tone. |
“And She Was” by The Talking Heads featured on The Carrie Diaries Most people point to the fashions on The Carrie Diaries since on big-sister show Sex And The City, fashion was it’s own character. However, on The Carrie Diaries, music play as big if not a bigger role than fashion. This scene with Carrie and Sebastian is perfectly scored by The Talking Heads hit “And She Was” as it points to an ideal girl on the cusp of womanhood – Much like our Carrie.

90210 continues it’s white hot streak of featuring new artists as PART OF THE SHOW, which makes for some epic party / concert sequences. Rita Ora is the newest and her song “Shine Ya Light” perfectly fits in with the vibe at West Beverly.

Sadie Hawkins is an ever-fraught tradition that seems to refuse to die. Glee tackled that theme with aplomb, resplendent with an adorable rendition of “Tell Him.” Originally performed by The Exciters is as exciting as ever in this updated version. |
