The Fosters Recap

The Fosters imageEpisode 10 of The Fosters ended with a gripping and yet emotional conclusion to an incredible first season.

In Episode 10 “I Do” we learn that Steph has completely recovered from surgery and contemplates going back to work while Lena focuses on their upcoming nuptials. Callie goes on trial for her past with Liam and confesses it was rape and not a mutual act.  Liam leaves the court room with nothing but a slap on the wrist. Wyatt breaks up with Callie, revealing that he is aware of her feelings for Brandon and confesses he will be leaving town with his mother. While Mariana and Jesus deal with the backlash of their actions in connecting with their birth mom, Anna, Brandon deals with his father’s alcoholism.

Before Lena and Steph say ‘I do’, they let Callie and Jude know that they will soon be adopted by the Fosters with the whole family’s blessing–something the viewers have been anxiously waiting for. Prior to the ceremony at the cocktail party, Callie cannot contain her feelings for Brandon any longer and rushes to him–confirming what Wyatt suspected.  They share a passionate kiss, but they do not go unnoticed–Jude catches them in the act. He is furious with Callie but does not mention what he saw to the rest of the family.

Steph and Lena end up getting married with a beautiful ceremony filled with love from their families.  Lexi’s parents admire Jesus and Lexi dancing during the reception and they reveal that they will soon be moving back to Hondurus, unbeknownst to Lexi and the Fosters.

The final moments of the episode are shocking.  Callie leaves in the middle of the night with Wyatt leaving Jude, and Brandon and the rest of the Fosters are left behind. The “Fosters” have yet to disappoint the viewers with their incredible cliffhangers, but we will now have to wait 5 months before season 2 begins in January to find out where Callie has gone and if she will give up her feelings for Brandon in order to live with Steph and Lena.
