We’re about halfway through season 23 of DWTS and things have gotten mighty interesting. This past week the judges introduced a SWITCH IT UP challenge! But who went home? There’s the rub. This past episode, one very lucky contestant was saved from elimination. How you ask? Read on!

A glitch put incorrect phone numbers last week. “So in fairness, we decided to discard all of the viewers’ votes,” explained co-host Tom Bergeron. Who would have gotten the axe? We can’t tell for sure but it seems it would have been Southern comic Bill Engvall, who had the week’s lowest scores with a 24 total The episode contained few other highlights – “Glee’s” Amber Riley and “Saved by the Bell’s” Elizabeth Berkley Lauren ended the night atop the leaderboard.

Previous front-runner Corbin Bleu had a bit more of a bumpy night. The “High School Musical” star and pro partner Karina Smirnoff channeled his inner Dothraki for a “Game of Thrones”-themed Viennese waltz. While the series is wildly popular, the judges didn’t seem to be swayed; the front-runner received his worst scores of the season.

“Corbin the king slayer, dances with dragons. You were playing it like Conan the barbarian, you lost your flow,” said judge Bruno Tonioli. Bergeron ended with “I’m just glad you didn’t go with the ‘Red Wedding’ tango,” which clearly makes it evident he follows the show. Oh, Tom….a man of endless complexities.
