Mel decides it would be best to take things slow with Joe but it ends up backfiring on her. Joe takes Mel literally and finds another job, working so hard that they never have an opportunity to see each other. He also moves out so he can have the proper opportunity to court Mel. Joe finds an apartment but has to take a lot of shifts at the new job in order to pay for it. Mel accidentally gets Joe fired and actually sees it as a good thing until Joe is hired as a new live-in nanny for one of the neighbors. Mel is right back where she started!

Elsewhere, Lennox is conflicted about putting her relationship with Zander on a break when he asks her to collaborate with him on a comic book. Meanwhile, Lennox gets her dream internship at the local newspaper, but has a difficult time actually waking up to get to work.
