2 Broke Girls Timeline

Caroline and Max have been on an epic adventure to open their cupcake shop from the beginning of the series. They have run into so many humorous obstacles along that way and their passion is undeniable. How could you not want them to win? When the series began, the duo was broke and working as waitresses to pay the bills. They’ve managed to find odd jobs along the way and many helpful friends/love interests.

In the first season, the girls never break $1000 dollars in their tally for a business of their own. They range from $400-$500 and then end the series with just $927. Although the money isn’t great, the girls grow immensely in the first season. They bump shoulders with Martha Stewart and have many almost awesome opportunities. Clearly, the girls haven’t learned enough about business at this point and still have many drama filled moments to endure.

In Season Two, the girls get creative and super driven. They follow up with Martha Stewart and even audition for Cupcake Wars on the Food Network. The girls break $1000 in this season and prove they are force to be reckoned with. After a blurb about their business appears in Martha Stewart living, orders really starts to pick up. Caroline persuades Max to rent a storefront for their cupcake shop and at the end of episode 8, the girls have a whopping $21,328 in their tally. The money quickly dwindles as they prepare to open their shop but the girls are even lucky enough to hire an intern to help them. One thing leads to another and the girls’ money starts to get low again. Too much spending and not enough orders will do that. The girls forge on and end Season Two with $1540.

As the girls mature and learn more about business, Season Three brings new adventures. Opening a new storefront in the back of the diner, the girls must sustain their business. They even try getting a cappuccino machine that proves to be too difficult for the girls to operate. Money continues to be low for the girls as they manage their expectations and the lengths they are willing to go for their passion. Max’s relationship with Deke blooms and upon finding out that he comes from money, Max is tempted to run.  Deke proves to be a good guy, especially when the pastry school Caroline is attending goes under, and Deke offers to buy it. It will be exciting to see where the girls will go from here. They are superstars in our eyes no matter how much their tally is!
