Guardians of the Galaxy – second trailer

Summed up as: The long-awaited conclusion to Phase 2 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Or, another comic book movie, this one really out there…
Weirdest thing in the trailer:People seem excited by the fact that Groot (the talking tree guy) actually talks in this trailer (voiced by Vin Deisel!), but isn’t it strange how the green Zoe Saldana definitely does not?
Worth seeing it opening weekend? This has that it’s-either-gonna-be-the-most-amazing-thing-ever-or-an-absolute-disaster feel to it, so we say why not give it a go? It is Marvel after all, and they managed to make even Thor mildly engrossing and fun!

TEEN WOLF

Summed up as: The snappy teaser to the new season. And when we say snappy, we mean like when a wolf snaps at you, so be careful.
Coolest thing in the trailer: Even though super slo-mo is being overdone to the bone, it still looks cool, so we’ll take it.
Weirdest thing? The dust. But we kinda like it too. You could cover these guys in anything and they’d still look smokin.
DVR it or Watch it? Watch it!! It’s Stiles!

CINDERELLA – teaser

Summed up as:
Really? It’s the timeless fairy tale, and Disney has the cash to go back and make a lavish live action version of their classics now.
Coolest thing in the trailer: This is a teaser in the most teasing sense of the term—there’s not a whole lot to go on. But a quick look at the film’s IMDB page reveals some treats: Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett as the wicked stepmother, the ever wacky Helena Bonham Carter as the fairy godmother, and Lily James (not to be confused with Lily Collins who played Snow White in the wretched Mirror, Mirror) as Cinderella.
Worth seeing it opening weekend? Let’s see how Disney does with Maleficent. And seriously, do we need another live action Cinderella story after the truly brilliant Ever After?

TREEHOUSE

Summed up as: A much more serious version of Wrong Turn?
Creepiest thing in the trailer: The whole friggin’ thing, but especially those hung corpses.
Did they show too much? No, which in the case of a horror film is a good thing. We still don’t know who the killer is.
Worth seeing it opening weekend? That depends: do you like being totally freaked out?

HELLION

Summed up as:
The better alternative to last year’s similar Homefront with Jason Statham.

Most exciting thing in the trailer: Seeing both main adult cast members at work: Aaron Paul fresh from his Breaking Bad run, and the always-superb Juliette Lewis (who is next starring in JEM and the Holograms??!!??).
Special mention: The main young adult cast member, newcomer Josh Wiggins, who is nothing short of raw and extraordinary in this film. Check out our video interview with Aaron & Josh here!
Worth seeing it opening weekend? A standout film from this year’s Sundance Film Festival – check it out if you’re in the mood for a sensitively acted, brooding and realistic look at a broken family trying to come together.

THE RIOT CLUB

Summed up as:
Dead Poet’s Society if they all behaved like the jerk.
Hottest thing in the trailer: Douglas Booth, obvs, who is very beautiful in spite of having been all but overlooked in last year’s extravagant Romeo & Juliet.
Weirdest thing? The overuse of the fact that they are in a very elite club. Very elite clubs don’t talk about how they’re clubs (doesn’t anyone remember the rules of Fight Club????)
Worth seeing it opening weekend? It’s between this and Affluenza, which sounds more promising.

GAME OF ASSASSINS

Summed up as:
Cube meets Saw meets Cabin in the Woods meets [insert any other title here]. Looks %100 derivative.
Weirdest thing in the trailer: The guy who looks like Ryan Kwanten but isn’t.
Most exciting? Gotta love Bai Ling, from Asian horror favorite Dumplings.
Worth seeing it opening weekend? Definitely not. This one has that straight-to-video feeling.
