Some Fine Day

Original author: Kat Ross
Some Fine Day

SYNOPSIS:
Sixteen-year-old Jansin Nordqvist is on the verge of graduating from the black ops factory known as the Academy. She’s smart and deadly, and knows three things with absolute certainty:

1. When the world flooded and civilization retreated deep underground, there was no one left on the surface.

2. The only species to thrive there are the toads, a primate/amphibian hybrid with a serious mean streak.

3. There’s no place on Earth where you can hide from the hypercanes, continent-sized storms that have raged for decades.

Jansin has been lied to. On all counts.

WHY SHOULD YOU CHECK IT OUT?
Jansin’s world is underground, she’s a deadly operative, and there are savage hybrid creatures living on the surface. But then everything turns out to be lies? This sounds like a City of Ember for the teen set. We can’t wait to find out how it stacks up!

The cover makes good use of its white space, drawing our eye to Jansin’s own. Therein, the reflection of the lightning strike off her stormy eyes is a subtle hint at the nature of the tale.

This is author Kat Ross’ debut novel. There’s always room for more dystopian worlds on the bookshelves, so fingers crossed that this turns a unique page for the genre… and a sequel for Jansin!

EARLY REVIEWS SAY…
[A] gripping thriller that snatched me into a horrifying, futuristic world where science clashes with nature. This heart pounding adventure kept my pulse racing… (Christina Farley, author of the Gilded series)
