Reader Poll Kagasoff Vs Woodley Whose Movie Was Better Ya Mag

Daren Kagasoff Shailene Woodley

This was a great week for fans of ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager! Both Shailene Woodley and Daren Kagasoff, who played opposite each other as Amy and Ricky on Secret Life, star in movies that hit theaters on October 24. Daren stars in the seasonally appropriate chiller Ouija, while Shailene delves further into the indie-sphere with the book-to-screen coming-of-age/mystery White Bird in a Blizzard. We’d like you to take each film into consideration, and let us know which one you thought was better.

Ouija stars Daren as Trevor, friend of the recently deceased Debbie (Shelley Hennig), who is quite skeptical about using the Ouija board to make contact with his departed friend. White Bird in a Blizzard stars Shailene as Kat, a teenage girl whose mother (Eva Green) disappears just as she is on the brink of a nervous breakdown.

Both films have a lot of appeal, which will make picking a favorite a difficult decision. Ouija is a popcorn flick destined to leave viewers riddled with anxiety, and has a likeable cast of fresh and familiar faces, such as Teen Wolf‘s Shelley Hennig, Big Love’s Douglas Smith, and Happyland‘s Bianca A. Santos. This is director Stiles White’s first time in the director’s chair, but he isn’t new to the genre. He wrote the screenplays for the horror flicks Boogeyman and The Possession.

On the other hand, White Bird in a Blizzard, a film that may not be playing in a theater near you due to its limited release but is available on iTunes and other on-demand services, may be your pick. It’s written and directed by legendary indie filmmaker Gregg Araki (The Doom Generation, Kaboom), whose dark take on coming-of-age and young adulthood has been impressing and shocking audiences since the late 1980s. White Bird also has an impressive cast of young stars, including Shiloh Fernandez (Red Riding Hood, Evil Dead), Gabourey Sidibe (Precious, American Horror Story: Coven), and Mark Indelicato (Ugly Betty).

So, here’s what we want to know (submit your answers in the comments section):

Whose movie was better: Shailene’s or Daren’s?
