Mordechai and Daniella take a deep dive into their favorite sports scenes of all time, their dream football team lineup of Disney characters, and the most iconic character athletes of all time.
If you’ve ever wanted a podcast to learn from the stars and get the best masterclass tips and tricks for launching your own career, you’ve come to the right place!
While we may not be the biggest fans of professional sports, we sure do know a lot about the most iconic sport moments in film and TV. Mordechai and Daniella take a trip down memory lane, reflecting on their favorite sports scenes of all time. The rain scene with Austin Ames and Sam Montgomery in A Cinderella Story may take the cake, as Austin stands up to his father on the football field and confesses his love to Sam.
Mordechai: “Cinderella Story is my favorite movie with sports.”
We also remember one of the most iconic sports shows of all time, One Tree Hill. Mordechai talks through season 4, episode 15, the basketball state championship game, where Brooke gives Lucas permission to follow his heart and tell Peyton he loves her after winning it all. Talk about an iconic and emotional episode!
Mordechai: “Brooke gives Lucas permission to go to Peyton and it is probably one of best moments in the whole show.”
We play a fun game of casting the first ever all-Disney football team. Mordechai and Daniella went back and forth over their picks but ultimately drafted Ethan Craft from Lizzie McGuire as quarterback, Chad Danforth from High School Musical as running back, Raven Simone from That’s so Raven as head coach, and Troy Bolton and Kim Possible to the offensive line. With a team name like “That’s So Possible”, who else thinks this team could go undefeated?!
To recap some of our favorite scenes from the most iconic sports films, Mordechai and Daniella pull up screenshots from John Tucker Must Die, A Cinderella Story, and She’s the Man and narrate the story of a background character from these scenes.
And like every iconic Disney channel original movie that features a classic body switch, we end the episode by playing a round of this or that, sports edition. Mordechai or Daniella choose between playing basketball on the Tree Hill Ravens in One Tree Hill, football on the Silver Falls team from My Life with the Walter Boys, baseball in Sandlot, or volleyball in The Summer I Turned Pretty.
Daniella: “A Disney channel original movie was all about a classic body switch.”
