Julian first got his start with acting at just seven years old after his dad met someone who worked at an agency and encouraged him to bring Julian in to try it out. He said he had always loved music, movies, and the arts, so it seemed like a natural fit and he has loved it ever since.

Julian is a blossoming star, both on stage and on the big screen. He recently played ‘The Artful Dodger’ in the New York City Center’s production of Lionel Bart’s Oliver! and is now currently in ABC’s reboot of the Wonder Years, playing Brad Hitman. He is also currently playing the 12-year-old version of Brian Cox in From Now, a podcast series also starring Richard Madden.

In 2022, Julian was a part of the fantasy-adventure film Boys of Summer, directed by David Henrie. In 2021, Julian also starred in the Netflix hit film Yes Day alongside Jennifer Garner, Edgar Ramirez, and Jenna Ortega, with the film becoming Netflix’s second-biggest Kids and Family release after 53 million streams. For the past few years, Julian has also voiced “Lucas” in the animated series Alma’s Way for PBS. He first got his start with the 2017 Netflix film Pottersville.

We asked Julian about his favorite part of acting and he said being on set and learning from those around him was the best part. In preparing for scenes, he said he likes to try and get into his character by imagining how they walk, talk and what other various mannerisms they have. We also asked Julian about being in front of a camera and while he said it can be nerve wracking, he has learned to channel those nerves and use them in a positive way.

We also asked Julian about his role working as an ambassador with ACTION and he said he was first connected to the organization through a friend. It is an important cause to him because it focuses on keeping kids’ hearts healthy and he also wanted to align himself with a group that focuses on children and helping to make a difference in their lives. He recently represented ACTION by singing the national anthem at a New York Yankees baseball game a few weeks ago.

To conclude our interview, we asked Julian his top three favorite albums, to which he responded Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie Wonder, Extension of a Man by Donny Hathaway, and Abbey Road from The Beatles.
