New Pretty Little Liars Spinoff Releases First Full Trailer

Pretty Little Liars was originally a series of YA mystery novels by Sara Shepard, published from 2006-2014. It was adapted for TV by Freeform in 2010, and has been wildly popular ever since. Speaking of which, fans of Shepard will love this YEM interview from a while back. Still can’t get enough? Not to worry – she’ll be sitting down for another interview with us soon, so keep your eyes peeled!

The trailer for Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, is pretty promising. Bailee Madison plays precocious Imogen Adams, who lives in a self-proclaimed “scary house across the street from the cemetery” with her mother. Her friends – who all have secrets of their own – are Tabby Haworthe (Chandler Kinney), Noa Olivar (Maia Reficco), Minnie Honrada (Malia Pyles), and Faran Bryant (Zaria). The girls band together in support of Imogen’s run for “spirit queen” (Millwood’s way-too-on-the-nose prom queen equivalent). But when tragedy strikes at the dance, the real drama begins. Each girl receives a text from an unknown number, which reads: “One down. Five to go. -A.”

Given that there’s five main characters, it’s safe to say that they’re the ones in danger here. A’s face is never revealed (obviously), but they seem to take a very active role in the series: showing up to school assemblies, peering out of windows, and going just about anywhere you’d never want a murderous stalker to be. Let’s hope they all make it out of this alive!

Those looking for even more PLL content before Original Sin premiers won’t have to wait for long! YEM also interviewed Elias Kacavas, who plays Greg in the upcoming show; we will soon be releasing more content featuring the actor. Stay tuned!

The show will start streaming on HBO Max July 28th.
