YEM 2020 Top 5 List: Top 5 Albums

2020 is finally nearing its end, and we’re all heaving a collective sigh of relief! But just because the year didn’t exactly go to plan doesn’t mean there weren’t a few good things to come out of it. And on the other hand, quarantine definitely made us appreciate the songs, movies, TV shows, and books that saved us from mind-numbing boredom all that much more. Here’s YEM’s 2020 Top 5 List to look back on the best YA content this year had to offer.

Top 5 Albums

1.Julie and the Phantoms

Looking for an Album chock-full of bangers? Look no further than the songs from Julie and the Phantoms. Every track on this album, from the upbeat “Stand Tall” to the emotional “Unsaid Emily” will make its way onto your playlist. Check out YEM’s review of Julie and the Phantoms here!

2.HSMTMTS Christmas album

We love Christmas music and the cast of HSMTMTS. What better way to enjoy the holiday season but with festive covers of classic songs performed by these talented actors? Check out our exclusive interview with Larry Saperstein about the HSM Christmas special here!

3.Folklore – Taylor Swift

Taylor’s been busy in quarantine, delivering not one but two surprise albums. This beautiful, heartfelt collection of songs is exactly what Taylor Swift fans needed to get through the year.

4.Dedicated Side B – Carly Rae Jepsen

Here’s another album that carried us through most of quarantine. The killer upbeat tracks like “This Is What They Say” and “Stay Away” got us ready for the summer vibe. The only bummer was there weren’t any dance parties to do them full justice.

5.Positions – Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande’s 2020 brought us through the tail end of the year. She casually announced the release on Twitter in October, resulting in fans losing their minds! Thank god, she delivered!
