College acceptance letters can make or break dreams for some. For Spencer Hastings, it’s no different. In PLL episode 4×2 Spencer opens a letter from her dream school, UPENN, only to find out that she wasn’t accepted. Underscoring the huge disappointment is P!nk’s haunting ballad “The Great Escape.” P!nk’s vocals combined with heart-rendering lyrics make it the perfect tune to highlight the delicate nature of the moment.

The Quince is here! Callie is coming into her own and what better song to celebrate to than Jennifer Lopez’s “Live It Up.” It’s a perfect party anthem if there ever was one, and an ideal choice for a Quinceanera

“Be What You Want” by Robin Loxley & Oliver Jackson featured on Switched at Birth 2×12 “Distorted House” Promo

Sometimes promo music is just as important as music in the episode if not more so. It has to capture the entire tonal feel of what’s about to go down. In Switched at Birth episode 2×12 “Distorted House” the haunting “Be What You Want” does just that.  Just as Bay and Ty begin to reconnect, Bay learns some shocking news about Ty’s experiences in Afghanistan and after he returned home. John is torn when both Toby and Travis approach him about a manager position at the car wash. Meanwhile, Kathryn and Daphne have a hard time coming to terms with Bay’s request to stay with Regina. All of these things are teased and underscored by the dreamlike, chill inducing vocals of Robin Loxley & Oliver Jackson.

With good reason, Mia Michaels has risen to the top of her field with no small part due to her consistently amazing routines delivered on SYTYCD. This year looks to be no different. A gut-wrenching love triangle is played out against Rihanna’s lilting ballad, “Stay” with the help of uber-talented dancers (and early fan favorites) Carlos Garland, Hayley Erbert, Malece Miller. Their triangle is only sharpened by Rihanna’s pleas for her lover to…Stay. Watch it above!
