Season 4 thus far has been maje dramz and while we’re already at episode four, we all probably have more questions than answers. Sure, we finally learned who was on the Halloween train, whether it was Melissa on the “A” team, and who started the lodge fire, but we still have no idea who really killed Wilden — Melissa or Ashley Marin? Let’s go back to go forward.
Up top, Spencer was suspicious of Melissa’s involvement with the “A” team ever since Mona revealed Melissa and Wilden were the Queen of Hearts on the Halloween train. But Melissa pretty much told Spencer to stay out of it or risk great danger. Spencer decides to try and catch Melissa in the act. Spencer and Aria hide Melissa’s mask in her suitcase, which is a pretty bold move. Melissa finds the mask and freaks. She immediately runs off to Hector (the creepy mask maker) and purchases every single cast of her face so she can smash them all to bits. Spencer sees her doing this and finally confronts her about the whole shebang. Melissa tells Spencer she had the masks made in an effort to get answers from Hector because she thinks Ali is alive!
Was she on the Halloween train? Yes. Is she the Queen of Hearts? Yes. Melissa swears she had no idea about Wilden’s real motives on the train and swears the only reason she ever joined the “A” team was to protect Spencer. Melissa says she has no idea who Red Coat is or who saved the girls from the fire. Spencer finally confronts Melissa with the biggest question of them all…Did she kill Wilden? Melissa doesn’t exactly deny the accusation. Instead, she tells Spencer to stay out of it or risk her own safety and the undoing of the whole thing. Melissa’s involvement in Wilden’s death seems likely, especially since he was out to kill her little sister and friends. If that’s the case, then why did she save him after he got hit by the car? Only “A” really knows (probably). Will Spencer let Ashley Marin take the fall for Wilden’s murder? Only time will tell.
In un-Wilden-related news, Aria and Jake have an awkward encounter with Malcolm, which turns out to be one of the sweeter moments of the episode. Also, Emily receives bad news. Her doctor called Family Services on her family, AND also tells her that her injury may prevent her from swimming professionally. Seems like Emily is headed for the skids if you ask us, but we’ll have to wait until next time to see….
