It’s that time of year where you can curl up and watch as many holiday movies as you want. Our Little Secret is a new Christmas rom-com and will be released on Netflix on November 27. Before the film’s release, we facetimed with Jake Brennan who plays Callum to learn more about working among incredible actors and what to expect from the film.
In Our Little Secret, Avery and Logan, two resentful exes, are forced to spend Christmas under the same roof after they discover their current partners are siblings. The star studded film features Mean Girls and Freaky Friday star Lindsay Lohan as Avery, Pretty Little Liars alum Ian Harding as Logan, Wicked’s Kristin Chenoweth, Tim Meadows, and more!
Jake has been in the entertainment world for many years and you may recognize him from guest roles on Sam and Cat, I Didn’t Do It, Criminal Minds and supporting roles in the feature films Dark Skies and Disney’s Super Buddies. Jake also stars as Richie Rich in the Richie Rich series on Netflix.
Jake said he has often played more preppy or nerdy characters in the past but had a lot of fun playing a mischievous character like Callum. We think he nailed it and it is evident from that one scene where Callum has too much to drink!
“This was my first time playing a conniving, mischievous role.”
Even though Jake is a seasoned actor, he was the youngest person in the cast and was very nervous his first day on set. But he said everyone took him under their wings throughout the film and it truly felt like a family.
“Just being on set, I was being supported by everyone else.”
We obviously had to ask Jake what it was like to work with such a talented and iconic cast. He had nothing but amazing things to say about each of them, calling Lindsay incredibly professional and courteous, Ian as very wise and supportive, and Kristin as one of the brightest lights in this world. Talk about an incredible group to work with!
“I learned a lot from [Lindsay Lohan]. She carries herself very well and is very professional.”
“Kristin Chenoweth] is everything you could expect and 10x more.”
Jake said this Christmas rom-com is so special because everyone casted is absolutely perfect for their roles and everyone came together to make a funny, heartwarming holiday movie!
“To be with the full crew and the full cast [on the last day] all together on the stage and have that beautiful moment, it just wrapped it up in a bow.”
