Glee Dango talks working with original cast in Henry Danger: The Movie superhero comedy spin-off

The beloved Nickelodeon action comedy series Henry Danger returned with a twist as the original cast faces evils across multiple universes in Henry Danger: The Movie, now streaming on Paramount+! We chatted with Glee Dango, who stars as Kid Danger superfan Missy Martin to learn more about prepping for her role, learning from the legacy cast, and her acting journey tips!

Henry Danger: The Movie follows Jace Norman who reprises his role as Henry Hart/Kid Danger, a local hero in Dystopia after leaving behind his Swellview days. Just as the fame begins to weigh on him, a twist unfolds as Missy Martin, a Kid Danger superfan, turns his world upside down as she comes into possession of a device that can open up alternate realities. In addition to Jace, Sean Ryan Fox (Jasper Dunlop), Ella Anderson (Piper Hart), Michael D. Cohen (Schwoz Schwartz), Frankie Grande (internet celebrity enemy of Captain Man and Henry Hart) and Cooper Barnes (Ray Manchester/Captain Man) all reprised their roles from the hit Nickelodeon series.

Glee said her competitive dance experience prior to booking the role prepared her well.

Coming into her first major action film, Glee said watching the Henry Danger legacy cast, from Jace to Ella to Sean, was so helpful in understanding her character’s motivations in the film. She referenced the incredible acting from Jace, including a gut wrenching scream from their fight scene that you’ll just have to watch to see how good it is.

PULL QUOTE: “Watching all of the legacy cast who are adults and have really honed in on their craft perform scenes and use their instincts to help them through is something I will carry with me.”

For anyone looking to break into acting, Glee said her best advice is focusing on the preparation. Whether it is memorizing lines, studying your character, or having open conversations with the cast and crew, coming onto set prepared each day is a recipe for success.
