HSMTMTS Season 2 Brings New Guest Stars

Hit Disney+ Original series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is bringing two new guest stars on its upcoming second season.

In season two of HSMTMTS, Andrew Barth Feldman will play Antonie, a French exchange student. Feldman made his Broadway debut, as the lead role in the Tony Award-winning musical, Dear Evan Hansen. One year prior, as a high school sophomore, he won the 2018 National High School Musical Theatre Award. Feldman plans on attending Harvard University next year, and currently runs a theatre company. Zneefrock Productions, which he founded at the age of twelve, raises funds for several charitable causes.

Accompanying Feldman on set will be Asher Angel, as Jack, “a charming, smooth-talking student with wanderlust.” Angel is best known for his starring role as Jonah Beck, on Disney Channel’s award-winning series, Andi Mack (Check out our interview with Asher where he talks all about the show, link at bottom). He also starred as Billy Batson in Warner Brothers DC Universe feature film, Shazam!. Now a singer-songwriter, Angel has recently released his debut single, featuring Wiz Khalifa, “One Thought Away.”

“The cast and I are excited for fans to see how Andrew and Asher expand our East High cinematic universe,” said creator and executive-producer, Tim Federle.

Other previously announced, recurring guest stars include Derek Hough, from Dancing with the Stars. He will play Zack, the new drama teacher at East High’s rival school. Olivia Rose Keegan from Days of our Lives, will play Lily, an East High student, whose sweetness “masks her highly competitive nature.” And Roman Banks (who also appeared on Broadway’s Dear Evan Hansen), as Howie, a high school junior who works as a delivery guy for Big Red’s family’s pizza shop.

Next season, East High Wildcats will be preparing for their spring musical of Beauty and the Beast. In addition, they must face off against rival school, North High in attempt to win a prestigious student-theater competition.

There will also be brand-new solos written by Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett featured in this season! The release for season two has not been confirmed, but the season is in production.
